S60

What started as one of the GUI layers available for Symbian OS, has evolved in a few years time into something more than an operating system. Known also under it's previous name "Series 60", the S60 platform is now the largest Symbian OS platform by units sold, and smartphone market share. Developed by Nokia and licenced by numerous leading phone manufacturers like: Lenovo, LG Electronics, Panasonic and Samsung amongst others, has proven to hit the bulls eye with its look and usability design. Nokia sold almost 5,0 million S60 devices in Q1 2006 alone, cutting itself 75.8%* of the smartphone market share. The reason behind the success of the platform is the wide availability of 3rd party software, which extends the native possibilities of the platform to areas previously considered the stronghold of PC class devices. Here at Psiloc we strongly believe in the success of this platform, and have been actively supporting and developing this platform since its very beginnings.
